Originally from southeastern Michigan, Chuck Melman graduated from Eastern Michigan University in December 1976. He began his distinguished career in 1977 and earned his CPA certificate in 1979. Chuck has attended numerous executive development and training programs during his over 30 years of business experience including programs at the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia) and the Tuck School (Dartmouth College). Chuck has also been a leading instructor on a wide range of accounting, auditing and business programs sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and other colleges and universities. Chuck retired from PwC in June 2010. Chuck recently co-founded Park Meridian Business Advisors, LLC a regional financial and consultancy firm based in Charlotte, NC.

Chuck is considered to be one of the leading partners in dealing with business having difficult operational and financial issues. He has been instrumental in delivering innovative and lasting impact advice and counsel to his clients resulting in significant turnaround results and financial success. Among his accomplishments was appointment as a regional consultant on accounting and auditing matters for the Mid-Atlantic region of PwC. Additionally, Chuck initiated the formation of PwC’s Financial Advisory Services practice in the Carolinas. This practice, which he led for 4 years, provided consultation, advise and strategies for businesses undergoing dramatic change and financial difficulties. As part of these services, Chuck served as a Receiver as well as an Examiner in bankruptcy court proceedings. His work as a Receiver resulted in the significant recovery of assets to the creditors of these companies.

Chuck began his career in Detroit, Michigan serving clients of all sizes; both privately held and public. A primary focus throughout his career has been businesses in the industrial and consumer product manufacturing and distribution sectors. For 5 years Chuck served as the regional leader of the manufacturing practice of the Firm. Additionally he has extensive merger and acquisition experience where he has led due diligence efforts for both buyers and sellers. Capital raising assignments led by Chuck has resulted in excess of $10 billion in public debt and equity offerings. He has extensive experience working directly with members of the SEC staff to resolve complex issues related to financial reporting and disclosure faced by his clients. Among the clients Chuck has served as partner are Nucor Steel, Sonoco Products, Sealy Mattress, Oakwood Homes and Remington Arms. Other significant clients served include Ford Motor and Firestone Tire.

The significant challenges faced by clients and PwC in the post Sarbanes – Oxley era were led by Chuck’s business oriented, professional oriented approach to successfully managing the difficulties and issues of implementing ever evolving professional standards and public expectations in light of the scrutiny of financial reporting. His practical advice ensured seamless service at the highest standards. Thru the recent financial and economic turmoil Chuck has provided clients practical and results oriented advice in dealing with their lenders and successfully navigating thru the business challenges they have faced.

Chuck’s other interests include outdoor activities involving golf, hiking, as well as shooting sports. Chuck is an avid sailor and has sailed the east coast of the United States and throughout the Caribbean. An aviation enthusiast and supporter of the Naval armed forces, he is a member of the Association of Naval Aviation and the Tailhook Association. Additionally, in his spare time Chuck is an avid reader and enjoys hiking with his golden retriever.

Community service is important to Chuck. He has served as a board member and Chair of the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross (one of the largest in the country), board member of the Fletcher School and currently serves as a leading member of the Wake Forest University Business School Board of Advisors. Other activities include serving on the board of the Carolina’s Partnership and Board of Advisors of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

Kevin T. Kennelly is currently the managing partner of Park Meridian Holdings (PMH), an affiliate of Park Meridian Business Advisors. PMH was founded in 2008 and is active in three areas: community bank consulting primarily in the area of capital raising; the purchase of distressed loans from banks; and the representation of troubled debtors in their banking relationships. Additionally, he has advised numerous management teams in their turnaround efforts and in matters pertaining to bank debt and capital structure.

Kevin began his banking career in 1974 with North Carolina National Bank (now Bank of America). At NCNB, he worked in a variety of roles including national division loan officer responsible for the bank’s relationships in New York City and New England; and manager of the bank’s commercial credit department.

In 1985, Kevin was appointed Deputy Secretary of Commerce for the state of North Carolina by Governor James G. Martin . As Deputy he managed the entire department and represented the Secretary of Commerce and the Governor at various events, speeches , recruiting trips ,etc. The department encompassed the following areas as well as many others: Business and Industry Development/Recruiting, International Recruiting, Small Business Development, Industrial Finance, Travel and Tourism, and the NC Film Office.

Kevin returned to the banking industry in 1989 as CEO/President of Metrobank in Charlotte, NC. Metrobank was a troubled bank and the mandate was to fix the bank and sell it. Kevin was successful in this task and the bank was sold in 1990. In 1991, Kevin founded Park Meridian Bank also in Charlotte. Kevin led the bank in a successful capital raise of $9MM and then as CEO. The bank was very successful operationally and financially and under Kevin’s leadership also formed subsidiary operations in the areas of mortgage banking, wealth management and equipment leasing. The bank was sold in 2001 for approximately $50MM to Regions Bank now the 10th largest bank in the country. After the sale to Regions Bank, Kevin became president of the bank’s Mid Atlantic Group with responsibility for an area from Washington D.C. to Savannah. This was in effect a $4 billion bank earning over $50mm annually.

Kevin is also a member of the board of directors of Bay Bank, FSB and its holding company Jefferson Bancorp both of Baltimore, Maryland. He is a consultant to the private equity activities of Hovde Private Equity Advisors of Washington D.C. which is active in the areas of merchant banking. Also, he is a board member of Good Will Publishers, Inc., a major publisher and international distributor of books and other products that are expressive of Judeo-Christian values.

In addition to the above professional activities, Kevin has been active in political, civic, charitable and religious affairs. He is member of the Board of Trustees of Belmont Abbey College where he chairs the Strategic Planning Committee. He was co-chairman of the Finance Committee of the Vinroot for Governor campaign in North Carolina and he was state vice chairman of The Jack Kemp for President Campaign. He has served in various capacities for Mercy Hospital, the John Locke Foundation, the NC Bankers Association, and a variety of other organizations.

Kevin received his B.A. (Economics) from the University of Virginia in 1971 and an MBA (Finance) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974.
